Thursday night, 11:15 pm: After talking about our need to take a vacation for several weeks, I bite the bullet and book a hotel room in St. Augustine. It's online, so it's nonrefundable. But it's just for two days from now. What could go wrong?
Friday morning: 7:55 am: Amelia's car dies completely on the side of the road. First estimate at the dealership is $180 to fix. Gulp. But doable.
Weekend: Great times. Pictures coming soon. Of course eating out Saturday to Monday is a little pricey, but that's ok, right? It was either go or just lose the $250 we'd plunked down on a hotel room.
This morning at 10:00 am: The auto shop calls. Another problem discovered once the first problem was solved. New Total: $412
